I agree with everyone so far, but I am with you in this case. Yamaha has been very good.

THX, at least once, if it is the property of George Lucas, a certification procedure, which is hard to pass. If you have a "THX" was in your home theater system, you can be sure the system meets the highest standards. Now that THX is sold, the label began to appear on home theater systems. lol

If you are bound a little research on the theoretical, you will find outstanding professionals in many things not agree. Disagreement is the obvious need for additional speakers in the rear than the front. Even without formal education on the subject, you can instinctively, where it would be better, more speakers on the front of the seat back. I agree.

However, you need not choose between the two, if you choose Yamaha, which is so good, too!

Yamaha has a lot of time and money in the treatment of spent Topart it seems, in a system with incredible 5 front and rear speakers 4th Remember, first,Yamaha is a musical instrument, but does not come, where most of its resources. The people of sound reproduction and the people working closely tool when it comes to a natural sound comes, and it shows in their home more fun.

I choose my Yamaha in the rule for a custom install, because they run the best of both worlds, THX sound and sights of the stage. It also allows plenty of room for growth. Start with 5.1, if that is what rights, budjet then 7.1 and then 9.1, then 9.2, and so on ... It's a bit expensive, but the RX-Z11 is designed for 11.2 to 11.4 and it is incredible!

With other brands, Pioneer Elite and Onkyo is a good choice is back with good opportunities. Marantz is very good, and you can even line your Denon. I want to avoid, Harmon Kardon, by problems with reliability.

As noted by others who have responded here, the beautiful models from each manufacturer shall keep up to date with HDMI v1.3, and can keep the HD audio from Blu-ray decode.

Pioneer THX makes a few models and knowledge of the experience that they have exceptional customer service. Denon also makes a few. Denon are generally well marked, but a little expensive. Harman Kardon makes some very good THX certs not sure, but Harman is expensive and break a lot. (read the reviews at Amazon for all these shows) Onkyo makes some very good cheap in general, but if something happens, are still there, because they are not good customer service the worst. Go to Amazon to find what you want and read by users. Cnet.com reviews also editor of a large number of recipients.

Denon Onkyo is the way to go is decent but what model unless THX speakers are designed for Standard THX-i would not worry. If you are sure to meet HDMI-switching receiver to ensure that they are HDMI 1.3 and if the formats of high definition sound to go to run, you should check the high-end models (the HD can decode audio). But if I were you I would wait. The price should drop soon, you should have ordered a high price for a future-proof equipment. Oh, and make sure you can take the format of your TV is active (some are still 1080i)

I personally am a big fan of Denon receivers. If you listen to music if you do for film / TV, Denon offers the best combination in my opinion. and the best quality with HDMI from its 2308-series and higher, they offer 1080p-scale, a nice feature when you are cough all non-HD component * cough * Nintendo Wii * *

Onkyo, Denon, Harmon Kardon are great too.

From what I heard and read ... Onkyo would be a wise choice.
