Private Aircraft in the U.S. is not required to have radios for VFR flight in uncontrolled airports. The voice of the planes in the range from 118 to 137 MHz
Radios aircraft have different requirements from those of the marine radio. Because they tend to operate on the ground, transmission in a frequency band, the "line of sight" limits. 30,000 meters from your line of sight, can travel a considerable distance, so that communication over long distances.
Ships at sea are not working as much, but they must communicate over long distances (up to several thousand kilometers in some cases) For this reason is called a lower frequency band for maritime communication.
